Two variants of the Vito CL
The CL is based on the Vito
C, with the addition of a built-in, coupled,
shutter-priority, match-needle meter. It was introduced, with the
Vito C
and CD,
in 1960, when, with a 50 mm. f/2.8 Lanthar lens in Prontor LK six-speed
shutter, it cost about £29. By the following year, the camera
was also available with a Color-Skopar f/2.8 lens, which cost about
£38.
I believe this is the "De Luxe" finish
Finish options were available for a
while, as with the other two models (see Vito
C for more about these). Early
models have a top-plate metering display, but in the
mid-sixties, the specification was enhanced to give a
viewfinder display of the meter needle; at this time the
camera with Lanthar cost about £36 and the Color
Skopar option cost about £47. The following year the
Lanthar was replaced by the Color Lanthar and the price
of this option increased to about £37. The camera
appears to have been discontinued about 1968.
